Phoned In Tip Results In Drug Arrest

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A phoned-in tip has resulted in the Clay County Sheriff’s Office making a drug-related arrest.

Authorities say they received a call from someone who said they thought there were people at 1945 365th Street in Clay county that were using illegal drugs.

Two deputies went to the residence Tuesday evening. After speaking with two men, deputies were allowed to search the location for any illegal items. It resulted in them finding a small baggie containing what’s alleged to be marijuana along with some drug paraphernalia.

18-year-old Kevin Thomas, Junior of Spencer was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Clay county jail.

A second man in the house was released with no charges as of now.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says that could change, though, pending the outcome of an ongoing investigation.
