(Sioux City)– A Mexico man currently living in Spencer has been sentenced on drug and immigration charges in U-S District Court.
36-year-old Rolando Maza-Quiroz was sentenced to over 10 years in federal prison after pleading guilty in August to one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and one count of possession of a counterfeit alien registration card.
In a plea agreement, Maza-Quiroz admitted that between July 2006 and February 2007 he and others distributed atleast a pound of methamphetamine in and around the Spencer area.
In addition to the prison term, Maza-Quiroz must also serve a five-year term of supervised release.
Maza-Quiroz is being held in the custody of the U-S Marshal pending transport to a federal prison.
