(Spencer)– Minor injuries were reported in a two-vehicle collision Tuesday in Spencer.
Police say Robin Mahorney of Spencer was driving a vehicle that collided with a police squad car driven by Brian Denny of Spencer.
Authorities say Denny was responding to an emergency call with lights and siren and was southbound in the outside lane of Grand Avenue. A vehicle driven by Mahorney was westbound on East Fourth Street and had stopped for a red light. Authorities say Mahorney pulled into the intersection when the light turned green and collided with the squad car, with both vehicles coming to rest on West Fourth Street.
Mahorney was taken by ambulance to Spencer Hospital where she was treated and released. No injuries were reported to Denny.
Mahorney was cited for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.
Damage to a 2005 Chevrolet Impala squad car driven by Denny was estimated at 6,500-dollars; a 2001 Chevrolet Impala driven by Mahorney sustained an estimated six thousand dollars in damage.
The collision took place shortly after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday.
