Investigation Into Complaint At Prairie Lake Results In Drug Arrests

(Spirit Lake)– Five people face drug charges in connection with a gathering back on June 5th at the Prairie Lake Wildlife Management Area east of Arnolds Park.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to the scene after getting a report of a gathering. Upon investigating deputies found some of the individuals in possession of what’s alleged to be controlled substances.

Those arrested include 21-year-old Johnathon Neighbors of Maryville, Missouri, 20-year-old Michael Smith of St. Joe, Missouri and 21-year-old Brian Josephson of Albert City. All three were charged with possession of a controlled substance…marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Also arrested was 20-year-old Casey Meyer of Chanhassen, Minnesota who was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and 21-year-old Zeke Barnett of Maryville, Missouri who was charged with public intoxication.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Spirit Lake Police Department K-9 Unit, the Arnolds Park Police Department, Iowa State Patrol and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.
