Dickinson Supervisors Schedule Meeting To Hear Concern Over Snow Removal Policy

November 22, 2014

(Milford)– Several Dickinson county supervisors say it may be time to re-visit the county’s snow removal policy.

Supervisors David Gottsche and Paul Johnson said Tuesday they’ve been getting numerous complaints about snow and ice build-up on some heavily-travelled blacktops in the county.

County Engineer Dan Eckert says road crews are simply following a longstanding policy on snow removal that prohibits plowing after 5:00 p.m. It also prohibits “blanket sanding”. Eckert told the supervisors experiments with that philosophy in the past didn’t work.

The supervisors meanwhile want to hear more from the public on the matter. They’ve scheduled a special meeting for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 22nd at the old Milford City Hall.
