(Des Moines)– Saying he looks forward to serving another four years, Senator Jack Kibbie announced today (Thursday) he’s filed petition papers with the Iowa Secretary of State’s Office making his campaign for re-election official.
Kibbie currently serves as President of the Iowa Senate and is vice-chair of the Rules and Administration Committee as well as co-chair of the Ethics Committee, and is on the State Government and Agriculture Committees.
Kibbie served in the Iowa House from 1961 to 1964 and in the Senate from 1964 to 1968. He was re-elected to the Senate in 1988.
Kibbie also served on the Iowa Lakes Community College board for 17 years, serving as President for 10 of those years.
Kibbie represents District Four in the Iowa Senate, comprised of all of Emmet, Kossuth, Palo Alto, Humboldt and Pocahontas counties and a portion of Webster county.
Kibbie and his wife Kay operate a family livestock and grain farm near Emmetsburg, along with their two sons.
