(Arnolds Park)– The Iowa Great Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce is looking for a few good men and women.
Carol Caviness of the chamber says they’re recruiting for their Iowa Navy Commodore program.
Caviness says the commodores act as goodwill ambassadors for the chamber, attending various chamber functions, including ribbon cutting events; and volunteering to help with various chamber activities.
Caviness says prospective commodores should be friendly, good communicators, have knowledge of the area, be enthusiastic, positive and upbeat, and willing to participate in chamber events.
In addition, Caviness says commodores need to be employed by a business that’s a chamber member. She says the business will also be asked to honor a commitment that allows the commodore to attend chamber functions that may interfere with work.
Application forms are available at the Iowa Great Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce office in the Okoboji Spirit Center, or the Maritime Museum building, in Arnolds Park.
Application deadline is 5:00 p.m. April 9th.
