(Wallingford)– Fire damaged a hog confinement building Monday in Emmet county.
Wallingford firefighters were called to the Ron Fay residence at 4030 260th Street shortly after 4:00 p.m.
Upon arriving firefighters found fire and smoke coming from the east end of the building. Fire Chief Jarrod Fischer says the fire was buring in the ceiling and in some support beams. He says it took firefighters a half hour to 45 minutes to knock down the blaze.
Fischer says it appears the fire was caused by an electrical problem.
The Estherville and Graettinger Fire Departments assisted on the scene, along with Emmet County Emergency Management and the Emmet County Sheriff’s Office.
No hogs were lost and no injuries were reported.
Firefighters were on the scene about two hours.
