Milford Fire Station Bond Issue Passes

November 22, 2014

(Milford)– It took two attempts, but the Milford fire station bond issue has been approved.

The measure received 67 percent approval in Tuesday’s special election–458 voted in favor while 223 were opposed.

The bond is in the amount of 3.185 million dollars.

A portion of the cost of the new station will be covered by the townships the Milford Fire Department serves, along with the city of Wahpeton which contracts with the Milford department for fire protection.

An attempt at passing a similar measure last September fell just one vote short of receiving the required 60 percent needed for approval.
