City Of Spencer To Hold Economic Development Summit

(Spencer)– The city of Spencer will hold an economic development summit June 30th from 3:30 until 6:30 p.m. at the Clay County Regional Events Center.

Organizers say it will focus on how to better build upon and improve the city’s economic outlook.

Bob Henningsen of Smart Solutions Group out of West Des Moines, a consulting firm that provides economic development services throughout the country, will facilitate the session.

The featured speaker will be Dr. Ernie Goss, the MacAllister Chair in Regional Economics at Creighton University in Omaha. Goss has published more than 80 research studies focusing mainly on economic forecasting and on the statistical analysis busines and economic data.

Organizers say there will be a public break-out session that will provide input in shaping the city’s economic strategy.
