(Spirit Lake)– Many took advantage of KUOO’s “Get Up and Go Show” Thursday to get a sneak-peak at the Sami Bedell Center for the Performing Arts during a live broadcast from the brand new facility.
Among those joining us was Tom Bedell, who’s dream and generosity for the facility helped make it a reality. And while he played a key role in the project, Bedell says it was truly a community effort. He thanked a committee that helped spearhead the effort, recalling the various trips members made to performing arts centers throughout the midwest to get input.
Bedell encourages the community to continue to be involved in supporting and using the facility in the future.
Friends of the Sami Center has been formed to help raise money for long-term maintenance of the facility and also helps coordinate events.
