Okoboji High School Copes With Death Of Student

November 22, 2014

(Milford)– Okoboji High School is dealing with the loss of a student.

18-year-old Mason Dible, a senior at O-H-S, passed away Thursday of injuries sustained in a skateboard mishap last weekend in Wahpeton.

Superintendent Bob Miller says it’s been a very difficult day at school as students and staff try to cope with the death of a student who was extremely well-liked. He says for many students it’s especially a challenge because this is the first peer they’ve lost through death.

To accomodate students and staff who want to attend Mason’s funeral, Miller says there will be no school Monday (April 14th) in the Okoboji Community School District. Miller says activities scheduled for Monday evening will continue as scheduled. Classes will resume Tuesday (April 15th).

Mason’s funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday (April 14th) at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Spirit Lake.
