ILCC Trustees Vote To Obtain Specs On Building Projects At Estherville Campus

November 22, 2014

(Algona)– Meeting Tuesday in Algona, the board of trustees of Iowa Lakes Community College voted to get specifications on two construction projects at the Estherville campus.

They include a 5,500-square foot wrestling facility at an estimated cost of 362-thousand dollars; and the third phase of the Wind Energy Building which would house a blade repair room and gearbox repair facility. That project has an estimated cost of slightly more than a million dollars.

Trustees also authorized Delaine Hiney, Executive Director of Facilities Management, to explore some possible changes at the Spencer campus, located at Gateway North. They authorized participation in a feasibility study involving the city of Spencer, Spencer Area Activity Center, Spencer Public Schools, Clay county and other potential partners. The agencies have been looking into possible options for additional space.

The trustees next meeting will be held Tuesday, May 15th at the Spirit Lake campus.
