(Sibley)– Motorists accessing Sibley from old Highway 60 will have to take an alternate route Monday, weather-permitting.
The Iowa Department of Transportation says a contractor is scheduled to start work Monday on a new permanent connection that will utilize the interchange at Second Avenue.
As a result, the south access to Sibley on old Highway 60 will be closed to traffic. Motorists will need to use Osceola County Road A-22 to enter from the east or west of Highway Nine north of the city.
Cedar Valley Corporation of Waterloo is the general contractor on the project.
