Sibley Mishap Sends Two People To The Hospital

November 22, 2014

(Sibley)– A two-vehicle collision Friday at the intersection of 11th Avenue and Egret in Sibley sent two people to the hospital with minor injuries.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office says it involved a 2005 Chevrolet pickup driven by 24-year-old Justin Bents of Rushmore, Minnesota and a 1995 Dodge Stratus driven by 16-year-old Ashley Reck of Sibley.

Authorities say Bents was westbound on Egret and Reck was northbound on 11th Avenue when she failed to yield at the intersection, broadsiding the vehicle driven by Bents.

Bents and Reck were taken by ambulance to the Osceola Community Hospital.

Damage to the pickup driven by Bents was estimated at 10-thousand dollars with three thousand dollars in damage estimated to the car driven by Reck.

Reck was cited for failure to yield.

The mishap took place around 8:00 a.m.
