(Worthington, Mn.)– Some famous windsurfers are expected to visit southwest Minnesota this summer for the U.S. Windsurfing National Championships.
Worthington will host the event June 11th-15th. It will go along with the city’s annual windsurfing regatta and unvarnished music festival.
Worthington also hosted the national championships in 2003.
Regatta race director Jeff Hegwer says the event will be one of the biggest windsurfing events in the nation this year.
In other years, Worthington has been part of the U.S. Windsurfing National Race Tour.
Races are held on Lake Okabena.
