(Sibley)– A Sibley woman was arrested last week on warrants charging her with trespassing and interference with official acts…both simple misdemeanors. She was then re-arrested after allegedly writing a bum check to post bond.
Authorities say the trespassing charge against 55-year-old Ruth Stevenson was the result of her allegedly going into a Sibley business after being warned not to return.
Authorities say the second charge was filed when Stevenson allegedly tried to resist arrest while a deputy was taking her into custody on the first charge.
Stevenson then posted bond and was released.
However, authorities say she then allegedly stopped payment on a check she wrote for the bond. Her bond was then revoked and Stevenson was taken back into custody on the charges. She was released from jail after posting another bond. This time, it was 600-dollars. In cash.
