Sibley Man Faces Public Intox, Assault Charges

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A Sibley man faces charges following an alleged incident Saturday in Clay county.

The Sheriff’s Office says it received a 911 call around 2:45 a.m. from a female reporting she and other occupants in a vehicle were being assaulted by a man who was also in the car, which was stopped along the road in the 3100 block of 180th Avenue.

Upon arriving a deputy found a man standing next to the vehicle in his underwear.

Upon investigating authorities determined the man was getting a ride from the owner of the car back to the Hartley area. During the ride the man got sick in the car and then allegedly assaulted two female passengers in the vehicle.

The man, identified as 21-year-old Joseph Daggett of Sibley, was taken into custody and transported to the Clay county jail. He was charged with simple assault and public intoxication.
