Traffic Stop Results In Charges Against Algona Man

(Spencer)– A traffic stop Thursday in the 3300 block of Highway 18 in Clay county resulted in several charges against an Algona man.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy pulled over a vehicle driven by 29-year-old Bryon Anderson of Algona for a minor traffic violation.

Upon investigating the deputy learned Anderson had a barred driver’s license.

A subsequent search of the vehicle turned up a pipe and a small amount of what’s alleged to be marijuana.

Andersonw as taken into custody on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while barred and no seat belt. He posted a 200-dollar bond and was released pending a future court appearance.

An unidentified passenger in the vehicle was cited for an open container of alcohol and was released.
