Lake Park Traffic Stop Results In Meth Arrest

November 22, 2014

(Lake Park)– A traffic stop last Friday in Lake Park resulted in the arrest of a Nebraska man on a meth charge.

Lake Park police say an officer stopped a green Dodge truck because the driver wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.

Police say the driver, James Patten of Omaha, was found to be in possession of a substance alleged to be methamphetamine.

A subsequent search by the Arnolds Park Police Department’s K-9 Unit turned up additional amounts of the substance in the truck amounting to about 28 grams.

Patten was then charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, drug tax stamp violation, possession of drug paraphernalia, open container of alcohol and for not wearing a seatbelt.

The Lake Park Police Department was assisted by the Arnolds Park Police Department and the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office.
