SL Traffic Stop Results In Arrest Of Terril Man On Drug Charges

(Spirit Lake)– A traffic stop Thursday night in Spirit Lake landed a Terril man in jail on drug charges.

Spirit Lake police say an officer pulled over a vehicle shortly after 11:30 p.m. on 15th Street just west of Memorial Park for a traffic violation.

During the stop, the department’s K-9 unit, Zeke, was deployed. Over a third of a pound of what’s alleged to be marijuana was found in the vehicle along with a substance alleged to be cocaine.

The search also turned up U-S currency, a firearm and drug paraphernalia.

The driver, 41-year-old John Meyer of Terril was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver marijuana; possession of a controlled substance…third offense…cocaine; a drug tax stamp violation; operating while intoxicated…third offense; prohibited acts; possession of a controlled substance…third offense, marijuana; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Meyer was booked into the Dickinson county jail.
