(Spirit Lake)—Saying they want to see an up-to-date audit report, the Spirit Lake city council Tuesday decided to withhold a payment of 75,318-dollars to the Fire Department that had been appropriated for the 2007-2008 fiscal year.
City Administrator Mark Stevens told the council the last audit the city received from the department was for the fiscal year ending June 30th, 2005.
The council directed Stevens to write a letter to the fire board outlining the city’s concern over a lack of audit reports.
