(Spirit Lake)– A two-vehicle collision late Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Highway Nine and Hudson Avenue in Spirit Lake sent two people to the hospital.
Spirit Lake police say 58-year-old William Weller of Spencer was southbound on Hudson Avenue and was attempting to turn east onto Highway Nine when he pulled into the path of a vehicle driven by 24-year-old Veronica Newbrough of Lake Park who was westbound in the inside lane of Highway Nine.
The impact caused the vehicle Weller was driving to spin.
Both drivers sought treatment for possible injuries at Lakes Regional Healthcare.
Five thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a 2000 Ford Focus driven by Weller and to a 2006 Chevrolet Colbalt driven by Newbrough.
Weller was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.
The collision took place shortly after 5:00 p.m.
