(Des Moines)– More counties in Iowa have been added to the list of presidential disaster declaration areas, making them eligible for public assistance funds.
Palo Alto and Pocahontas counties are among them.
A total of 77 counties now have presidential disaster declarations for public assistance. Another 48 counties have been approved for individual assistance for residents and business owners.
Public assistance funds pay for debris removal, emergency services and repairing or replacing damaged public facilities.
