(Spencer)– A collision of two pickups Thursday evening in Rossie injured an Orange City man.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says Allan Dandy of Greenville was northbound on 200th Avenue at the intersection with Clay County Road B-53 where he went through a stop sign. Dandy entered the intersection as another pickup, driven by James Heilman of Orange City, was westbound on County Road B-53.
Deputies say Heilman tried to avoid colliding with the pickup driven by Dandy and drove into the ditch on the north side of the blacktop.
Heilman complained of possible injuries but indicated he would seek medical attention on his own. No injuries were reported to Dandy.
15-thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a 2002 Ford F350 driven by Heilman; no damage was reported to a 2000 Ford F250 driven by Dandy and owned by J. Haaland Farms, Incorporated.
Dandy was cited for failure to yield.
The collision took place shortly after 6:00 p.m.
