O’Brien County Rear-End Collision Injures Two

November 22, 2014

(Sheldon)– A two-vehicle collision late Friday afternoon at the intersection of Highway 18 and O’Brien County Road L-40 sent two people to the hospital.

The Iowa State Patrol says 78-year-old Barbara Puff of Emmetsburg was eastbound on Highway 18 when she collided with the rear of a vehicle driven by 53-year-old Teri Dryden of Sioux City who had stopped and was attempting to make a left-hand turn.

Puff and Dryden were taken by ambulance to Sanford Hospital in Sheldon with non-incapacitating injuries.

Puff was cited for failure to maintain control.

12,000-dollars in damage was estimated to a 2002 Mercury Puff was driving; damage to a 1996 Toyota driven by Dryden was estimated at three thousand dollars.
