Hwy 18 Mishap Near Everly Results In Possible Injuries

(Everly)– A two-vehicle collision Tuesday on Highway 18 in Clay county sent one person to the hospital with possible injuries.

The Sheriff’s Office says Ann Doris of Everly was westbound on Highway 18 and was attempting to turn north onto 170th Avenue when she was rearended by a vehicle driven by Gerald Ruehle of Ruthven.

Doris was taken to Spencer Hospital for evaluation; no injuries were reported to Ruehle.

A thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a 1992 Plymouth Sundance driven by Doris; a 1997 Ford F-250 pickup driven by Ruehle sustained an estimated 250-dollars in damage.

The mishap took place around 2:30 p.m.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Iowa State Patrol and Everly Fire and Rescue.
