(Undated)– Several local airports have been awarded funding for various airfield and security projects through the 2009 State Aviation Program.
Paullina will receive 90-thousand dollars for a runway replacement project that has a total estimated cost of 150-thousand dollars; Pocahontas will receive 54-thousand dollars to replace a fuel facility that has a total estimated cost of 68-thousand dollars; Sibely will get 79-thousand dollars to help defray the cost of a 99,000-thousand dollar runway pavement repair project; and Spencer was awarded 16-thousand dollars to be put toward a project to install automated access gates and a security fence. That project has a total estimated cost of 27,136-dollars.
The funding was approved today (Tuesday) by the Iowa Transportation Commission.
