(Emmetsburg)—A traffic stop early Sunday on Highway four south of Graettinger resulted in several charges against one person.
The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy pulled over a vehicle around 12:15 a.m. and discovered one of the occupants was wanted on three valid warrants out of Palo Alto county.
35-year-old Shannon Moon was arrested, but somehow managed to escape custody. That resulted in a search for Moon by the Emmetsburg Police Department, Emmet County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, Palo Alto County Conservation and the Pocahontas County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit.
Moon was located later Sunday morning in Estherville by the Estherville Police Department. Moon was transported to the Palo Alto county jail where he’s being held on the three original warrants along with charges of interference with official acts…an aggravated misdemeanor; escape from custody…a serious misdemeanor; and harrassment of a public officer…a simple misdemeanor.
