Full-Time Chemist On Board At Lakeside Lab

November 22, 2014

(Wahpeton)– An exciting development for Lakeside Laboratory and the Regents Resource Center on West Lake Okoboji.

Peter Vanderlinden of Lakeside Lab tells KUOO news they’ve reached an agreement with the University of Iowa’s Hygienic Laboratory for a new partnership to expand water quality testing services in the Iowa Great Lakes.

Vanderlinden says it’s resulted in a newly renovated water analysis laboratory at Lakeside Lab, along with the hiring of a full-time chemist, Dennis Heimdahl.

An open house, a tour of the laboratory and demonstrations of water analysis will be held at Lakeside Lab Friday, August 1st from 4:00 until 4:30 p.m. followed by remarks by key officials and a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The public is urged to attend.

Iowa Lakeside Laboratory and Regents Resource Center is located on the west side of West Lake Okoboji. It was founded in 1909 by Thomas McBride, a former President and professor at the University of Iowa.
