(Spirit Lake)– A two-vehicle collision Wednesday at the intersection of Sunner Avenue and 175th Street, or Stakeout Road, sent one person to the hospital.
Spirit Lake police say 18-year-old Jacob Darby of Olathe, Kansas was southbound on Sunner Avenue and had stopped for a stop sign when he pulled into the path of a vehicle driven by 49-year-old Bonnie Boetel of Lake Park who was eastbound on Stakeout Road.
Boetel was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare for treatment of minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.
Five thousand dollars in damage was reported to a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Darby and to a 2004 Chevrolet Venture driven by Boetel and owned by Ferguson Garden Center of Spirit Lake.
Darby was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.
The collision took place shortly after 1:00 p.m.
