(Estherville)– The Excel! Estherville initiative is still in need of volunteers.
Sue Nelson, a member of the Excel! Estherville Leadership Committee, says that while they have been very successful in recruiting volunteers to serve on nine committees, that they could still use more.
The committees include Arts and Culture, chaired by Brenda Marks; Beautification, headed up by Bob Jensen; Community Relations, chaired by Holle Smith; Diversity, lead by Karen Miller-Moritz; Existing Business, chaired by Kevin Sander; Housing, lead by Gene Haukoos; New Business, headed by Chris Sorensen; Recreation, chaired by Roger Hash; and the Tourism Committee, chaired by Scott Olk.
Community members can volunteer by going to the Estherville Area Chamber of Commerce website at www.estherville.org/ or by calling the chamber office.
The Excel! Estherville strategic plan includes eight overarching goals and more than 30 specific strategies. It was developed over several months in 2007 based on personal interviews, an on-line community survey and a plan development working group.
