Clay County Crash Seriously Injures Laurens Woman; Charges Pending

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– Charges are pending against a Laurens woman seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash early Wednesday in Clay county.

The Sheriff’s Office says 43-year-old Cynthia Arms was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Impala westbound on Highway 10 when she lost control. The vehicle went into the north ditch, coming to rest in a farm pasture facing south.

Upon investigating, authorities determined Arms had allegedly been operating while intoxicated.

A subsequent search turned up what’s alleged to be drug paraphernalia.

Arms was seriously injured in the crash and was flown out by helicopter.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says charges are pending against her when she returns.

2,500-dollars in damage was estimated to the vehicle she was driving.

The crash took place around 4:30 a.m.
