(Spirit Lake)– A young woman from Spirit Lake hopes to hit it big in the American Idol competition.
21-year-old Rachel Wallace of Spirit Lake won the Siouxland Idol competition held recently at the Plymouth County Fair in LeMars and earned a rite to participate in auditions for the national show in Kansas City.
Speaking with KUOO’s Rhiannon, Wallace said her audition is scheduled for 7:00 a.m. Friday (8/8). She said she isn’t sure what song she’ll perform. Wallace said it will all happen in about 30 seconds. If she advances, she will then meet and perform for the producers. If they give the go-ahead, she will then be on her way to Hollywood.
Wallace added she’s very appreciative to her family and friends for all the support and inspiration they’ve given her. She says it was her dad who encouraged her to enter the Siouxland Idol competition.
