(Whittemore)– One person riding in the back of a pickup pulling a horse trailer was injured Friday when it was involved in a collision in Palo Alto county.
The Sheriff’s Office says Sharon Mason of Cylinder was driving a 2001 Dodge truck pulling a horse trailer and Scott Anderson of West Bend was driving a 1992 Chevrolet when the two collided at the intersection of 570th Avenue and 400th Street two miles west of Whittemore.
Authorities say Dustin Bruce of Emmetsburg was riding in the box of the pickup and was thrown out as a result of the impact.
Bruce was taken by ambulance to Palo Alto County Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and released.
Mason was cited for failure to yield at an uncontrolled intersection.
The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Palo Alto County Ambulance crews from West Bend and Emmetsburg.
The mishap took place around 1:15 p.m. Friday.
