SW Mn. Crash Results In Multiple Injuries

(Worthington, Mn.)– A two-vehicle crash late Friday afternoon on Highway 60 three miles south of Worthington resulted in multiple injuries.

The Minnesota State Patrol says 32-year-old Jennifer Ackerman of Sibley was traveling northeast on Highway 60 when she swerved to the shoulder to miss a slow moving vehicle. Troopers say Ackerman then lost control. The vehicle slid across both lanes of traffic, striking the right rear of a vehicle driven by 52-year-old Phon Nakhornsak of Worthington.

Ackerman and four passengers in her vehicle, two-year-old Brody Ackerman, McKayla Frederick…age unknown, Brock Ackerman…age unknown, and nine-year-old Isaiah Frederick…all of Sibley…were taken by ambulance to Sanford Medical Center in Worthington. Isaiah Frederick was transferred to Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls with non-life threatening injuries.

Nakhornsak was taken to Sanford Medical Center in Worthington and was transferred to McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls with non-life threatening injuries.

Severe damage was reported to a 2003 Chrysler van driven by Ackerman and to a 1990 Dodge Caravan Nakhornsak was driving.

The collision took place around 5:20 p.m.
