(Orange City)– Two northwest Iowa men accused of selling their boss’ property on Ebay have been sentenced to 10 years in prison.
William Torrence and Timothy McInnis, both of Sheldon pleaded guilty in August in Sioux County District Court.
The case surfaced last January when Sioux Center police received a complaint from Sioux Automation about a suspected employee theft. Prosecutors say a search of the men’s homes turned up items belonging to the agricultural equipment company.
The County Attorney’s office says Torrence and McInnis stole property from the company, then listed the items for sale on Ebay and pocketed the money.
The value of the items taken from Sioux Automation topped 16,000-dollars.
