(Spencer)– Authorities say it was a wonder no one was hurt Saturday when a car collided with a semi at the intersection of 240th Avenue and 330th Street in Clay county…about a mile east of Spencer.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says Laure Jellison of Chaska, Minnesota was driving a 2002 Jaguar and Kent Pies of Woodward, Iowa was driving a 2009 Kenworth semi tractor pulling a 2004 utility trailer.
Deputies say Jellison was talking on a cell phone getting directions. Authorities say she collided with the rear wheels of the semi trailer upon making a U-turn.
A 2002 Jaguar driven by Jellison was totaled; three thousand dollars in damage was estimated to the semi tractor/trailer driven by Pies.
Jellison was cited for failure to yield at a stop sign.
The collision took place around 2:20 p.m. Saturday.
