(Dickens)– A Dickens woman escaped injury Friday when a vehicle she was driving collided with a train.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 23-year-old Amanda Miller was northbound going across a railroad crossing on Pine Street when she collided with an eastbound Iowa, Chicago and Eastern train. Authorities say Miller tried to put her vehicle in reverse prior to the collision. The vehicle was spun as a result of the impact, coming to rest facing south.
No injuries were reported to either Miller or the train crew.
Five thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a 2005 Mercury driven by Miller; no damage was reported to the train.
The incident took place around 6:45 p.m.
