Traffic Stop Results In Drug Charge Against Melvin Man

November 22, 2014

(Sibley)– A traffic stop Wednesday in Osceola county resulted in the arrest of a Melvin man on a drug charge.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy pulled over a vehicle north of Melvin for a traffic stop. During the stop, they say the deputy found a green leafy substance alleged to be marijuana.

20-year-old Benjamin Gruis of Melvin was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance…a serious misdemeanor; and possession of drug paraphernalia…a simple misdemeanor.

Gruis was booked into the Osceola county jail on a 1,300-dollar cash bond.

Authorities say additional charges are expected as the case remains under investigation.
