(Undated)– Here’s a rundown on how local bands fared at this past Saturday’s Iowa Marching Band Festival in Algona and Cherokee:
Division one ratings went to Algona Public, Algona Bishop Garrigan, Cherokee Washington, Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn, LeMars, Pocahontas Area, Sheldon, Sibley-Ocheyedan, Sioux Center, Spencer, Spirit Lake and Storm Lake.
Receiving division two ratings were Estherville-Lincoln Central, Humboldt and North Sentral Kossuth.
Bands were judged on marching and maneuver general effect and execution and music general effect and execution.
