(Spencer)– There’s been a shake-up in the leadership at Spencer Hospital.
The hospital’s board of trustees Monday voted unanimously to terminate a contract with Doug Doorn, who was the hospital’s President and Chief Executive Officer.
The motion stated that Doorn was being terminated without cause.
In a prepared statement, hospital board Chairman John Rahn said they have the highest respect for Doorn and that many milestones were accomplished during his tenure.
The agreement goes on to say that “after consideration, the board has concluded that different leadership skills are needed in the CEO position to achieve future goals”, adding the trustees want the hospital to be the very best.
Rahn said the board will hire a professional recruitment firm and begin the search for a new CEO immediately.
Jason Harrington, Vice President of Operations at Spencer Hospital, will serve as interim CEO.
