Traffic Stop Nets Two North Dakota Men

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A traffic stop Thursday at the intersection of 270th Avenue and 438th Street in Clay county resulted in the arrests of two North Dakota men.

Upon stopping the vehicle, a deputy learned a passenger, 27-year-old Aaron Steelman of Underwood, North Dakota, was wanted on two warrants out of O’Brien county.

A search of a second passenger in the vehicle, identified as 18-year-old Dakota Gallant of Underwood, North Dakota turned up what’s alleged to be drug paraphernalia.

Steelman and Gallant were both taken into custody. Steelman was transported to the O’Brien county jail where he was processed and released; Gallant was booked into the Clay county jail.

Upon being booked, a deputy located an ID card that gave a different name and birth than what Gallant had given the deputy during the traffic stop. Gallant at that point was also charged with interference with official acts and was held on a 300-dollar cash bond.
