(Spencer)– A Spencer woman has been selected as a winner in the Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation’s “Live, Work, Play Here” relay. Jill Barr received an overnight stay package at Arrowwood Resort and Conference Center in Okoboji.
Barr entered the relay by filling out a card at the Clay County Fair where she provided the names of two families who live outside the Iowa Lakes Corridor, but that she thought would consider moving to the four-county region.
The goal of the Live, Work, Play Here Relay is to attract 400 new families to the corridor through a grassroots effort.
The relay is intended to build upon the “Why Go Back” marketing campaign the corridor started last summer.
Sign-up in the relay continues, with additional prizes being awarded throughout the winter. Residents simply need to fill out a pledge form listing up to three people or families who live outside the counties of Buena Vista, Clay, Dickinson and Emmet but would like to live here. The forms can be completed online or downloaded at www.liveworkplayhere.org.
