(Everly)– The Milford and Everly Fire Departments battled a corn field fire early this (Thurs.) afternoon.
Firefighters were called around 12:30 p.m. to a field on fire at the intersection of 260th Street and 100th Avenue.
Officials say the fire was in a field that still had standing corn in it, making it difficult to extinguish.
There was no immediate word on a possible cause.
About four to five acres was burned.
