(Orange City)– A southwest Minnesota man was sentenced today (Monday) in Sioux county for having a fake identification card during a traffic stop last summer in Hull.
The Sioux County Attorney’s Office says 30-year-old Juan Biato Ramos of Worthington was arrested July 5th after a sheriff’s deputy noticed Biato Ramos’ identification card had the name of Hector Manuel Reyes Pena.
The deputy also found a social security card in Biato Ramos’ wallet with Reyes Pena’s name on it.
Prosecutors say Biato Ramos, a native of Mexico, admitted the cards were fakes and that he used them to get a job with the employment agency Advance Services.
He received a suspended five-year prison sentence but was ordered to serve 120 days in jail. He faces deportation after he is released.
