Grain Wagon Collision Results In Minor Injuries

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A collision involving a vehicle and a grain wagon Sunday evening in Clay county resulted in minor injuries.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 54-year-old Marleen Voss of rural Spencer was driving a 1999 Pontiac Montana northbound on 240th Avenue when she collided with one of four grain wagons being pulled by a tractor operated by 28-year-old Michael Stevens of rural Royal. Deputies say Stevens pulled out of a field drive into the path of the vehicle driven by Voss.

Voss was taken by private vehicle to Spencer Hospital complaining of pain to her upper torso.

No injuries were reported to Stevens.

Five thousand dollars in damage was estimated to the vehicle driven by Voss; damage to the grain wagon, owned by John Mugge and Mugge Farms, was undetermined.

The collision took place shortly before 9:00 p.m.

Authorities say charges are pending.
