The Minnesota State Patrol says 26-year-old Annamarie Villanueva of Sibley was eastbound on 330th Street in Nobles county and slid through a stop sign at the intersection with Highway 60, broadsiding a vehicle driven by 68-year-old Harlon Mellema of Round Lake.

Villanueva and four passengers in her vehicle, 33-year-old Christopher Gomez, seven-year-old Elisa Villanueva, six-year-old Robert Villanueva and one-year-old Gauge Villanueva…all of Sibley…along with Mellema…were taken to the Sibley hospital. All were treated and released.

Severe damage was reported to a 1993 Honda Accord driven by Villanueva with moderate damage to a 2001 Chrysler Sebring Mellema was driving.

Authorities say roads were ice-covered at the time of the crash.
