Spencer Traffic Stop Results In Two Arrests

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– What started off as a complaint of a vehicle being driven erratically resulted in two arrests Friday evening in Spencer.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy on patrol observed the vehicle in question and stopped it on Highway 18 east of the intersection with 10th Avenue Southeast in Spencer.

Upon investigating, deputies arrested the driver, Luis Antonio ROdriguez Acosta of Spencer for no driver’s license and no proof of insurance.

A passenger in the vehicle, Luis Rodriguez-Luna of LeMars, was found to be wanted by immigration officials for federal deportation. Rodriguez-Luna was held for ICE agents; the driver posted bond and was released.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Spencer Police Department.

The incident took place shortly after 8:00 p.m. Friday.
