(Estherville)– The Executive Dean of the Estherville campus of Iowa Lakes Community College is stepping down.
Mary Larscheid has been named Regional Director for Buena Vista University’s Professional and online studies in the Hills region of central Iowa.
She begins her new duties there in January.
Larscheid has been with Iowa Laks since 1991, starting as an adjunct professor.
She says she has mixed emotions, adding she’ll always have a lot of fond memories of her years of work with ILCC.
Larsheid taught a variety of biology courses and was one of the first professors at Iowa Lakes to begin teaching online courses. Larscheid has also worked with other educational agencies on instructional projects.
This past spring she was named to the prestigious Chair Academy’s International Practitioners Board for leadership and development, which initiates and oversees leadership training for postsecondary educators at midlevel manager positions.
